shifting an aod

ok, i just had the transmission rebuilt and after i put it back in i realized that the throtle pressure cable needed to be adjusted.
under norm driving its shifting at about 3500 rpm. ive been playing with this thing all day, which way does the cable need to be moved in order for it to shift sooner, towards the front of the car or towards the firewall?
my car is a 91 gt.

thanks for your help.

If I remember correctly by moving the adjustment toward the firewall will shift a bit sooner and lighter.I know when I moved it fwd it shifted later and harder.

to properly adjust the TV cable and prevent cooking you AOD, slide the white locking tab up so the cable slides freely, then with yout throttle body CLOSED FULLY, slide the TV cable into the T/B gromment, locking it into position and adjusting it properly at the same time. good luck, and do this immediately, unless you like fried AOD.

im not going to fry it just as long as it not short shifting, but you think i should un-lock the tab then put the tv cable back in the gromet and where ever the cable lays thats the right position?

improper TV cable adjustment can and will fry your tranny.

Yes, if you adjust it so the cable is fully retracted when the T/B is fully closed, this is where you want to be, without using the pressure gauge method, this is the easiest and safest way to adjust the tv cable properly.

thanks for your help but ive come to realize that the tranny rebuild is a piece of ****. no matter where i adjust the cable the tranny does not want to shift correctly.
