85 GT :::vs::: SHO
 

Hey dudes, i was wondering, what would win in a race. A STOCK 85 GT 5.0, or a stock Taurus SHO, the V6's and the V8's? Im not sure what year SHO, just would it beat one, thats all i wanna know.

In a 0-60 or a 1/4 race, most 85GTs would win without breaking a sweat.

However, in a freeway race the outcome would likely be different. SHOs benefit from very good aerodynamics and good top end horsepower. I know quite a few SHO owners that have dispatched Z28s (not LT1 or LS1) in races that initiated on the freeway.

My $$ would be on the Mustang, especially in a drag race, but like anything, the driver and traction conditions can make a big difference.

You'll easily dispatch any auto SHO's but some of the earlier sticks can be damn quick with a real good driver. Your 85GT is probably a low 15 car off the floor. Right in the neighborhood of a real well driven manual SHO.
