That part number belongs to one of several trannies used by Ford between 1986 and 1989. E6ZR-7003-FA was used behind a V-8 in 1986 stangs. The E6ZR-7003-FB was also used in 1986 with the difference being that the FA tranny had a neutral position sensor's wiring harness and connector added to the top cover's left side.
Further, between 1987 and 1989, the previously mentioned FB tranny was used behind the 302 with a 7 tooth speedometer drive gear. Reguardless of which year it was used, the ratios are broken down as follows: 1st=3.35 2nd=1.93 3rd=1.29 4th=1.00 5th=.675 R=3.15 In late 1989 and 1990 trannies, the gear ratios of second and third were revised to 1.99 and 1.33 respectively, and the tranny used an 8 tooth speedometer drive gear. This tranny has the part number E9ZR-7003-AA. Hope this helps. --nathan |
Thanks man. I think that will help. So what your sayin is I have a run of the mill T-5 correct. I thought it was but just wanted to be sure before I sold it. I wanted to make sure it wasnt a "Z" rated T-5 or anything.
Thanks Brad |
Brad,
Sounds like you're good to go, man. The World Class Z transmission from SVO carries the part number M-7003-Z. Just FYI, the ratios in the world class tranny are 2.95, 1.94, 1.34, 1.00, and .625 with a 2.76 reverse ;). Yep, yours is a good ol' run of the mill T-5. --nathan |
I was afraid of that. When I bought it the guy said it was a cobra tranny. I doubted him but I really didnt know what I was doing then and am learning still. Thanks man. Know anyone needing a T-5 with 6000 miles? Guess I am gonna post an add know
Thanks again Brad |
