All over the place!!

MY 94 pony is all over the place. I am guessing it is bad shocks. I am in college and cannot afford alot. What is a good brand and how much mone would they run me?

If it's drifting around it would sound more like bad tires or a poor alignment.

Shocks and struts will cause your car to be bouncy or floaty.

Yeah I would suspect your tires first off. How are they? Then check your alignment like Unit said.

Sounds like a classic case of bias-ply tires, but since you are probably not old enough to have ever even seen them, I doubt that's your problem. I would check the steering box adustment. Is there any hesitation/play between steering wheel movement and wheel movement?

GodStang 02-18-2002 10:38 AM

The tires are not that bad but I am getting new rims and tires in april. When I push down on the back it takes about 10 secs to return to its normal heighth. It goes up real real slow. The back of the car feels like it wants to flip over when I turn.

Sounds like broken or jammed-up shocks, IMHO. What happens if you pull up (lightly) on the back end?

LX5liter 02-18-2002 11:13 AM

Check to see off your sway bar mounts are good and solid. One might be broken. Have you had the car very long? Did it always act like this?

GodStang 02-18-2002 03:49 PM

I have had the car for 4 yrs and it just started doing that. Also it squeaks when you rock it. The bushing sound like they need to be greased. Front shocks seem normal the back are just really messed up.

Is your steering box messed up?

Probably your tires.
