water temp gauge
 

i recently put a 90-93 mustang computer to engine bay harness in my 89 mustang and im wondering how to get my water temp gauge to work the oil pressure gauge was were the temp gauge was and i switched the wire behind the dash and the oil went to were it was supposed to be and the temp didnt what do i have to do to get the gauge to work. i think the harness might be a 91

Are you sure your temp sensor is good? The way to check it is disconnect the wire from sensor and ground the wire. Turn the key on and watch your temp gauge - if you see the guage peg you've simply got a bad sensor. Next thing I would suggest is to
trace the wire back under the dash and see if it's the one hooked to temp guage.

the wire for the temp gauge goes from the gauge directly to the sender and does the guage need any other wires to work

I don't have my wiring manual here - but I believe there should be a 12v source going to the temp gauge as well. That's why when you take the wire off the sending unit and ground it - the guage needle pegs.
