TFS street heat or is it to much
I have a stock ported maniflod sitting the garage but I was thinking about just spending the 420 the TFS manifold (manifold, studs, gaskets)but the car is going to be stock headed for a while(maybe ported) and is still speed dens. and stock cam so is this intake to much and if I get will there be any gains at all untill I get the mass air con. and heads and cam
thanks for any help you guys can give YOU GUYS ARE MOST HELPFUL BUNCH OF MUSTANG GUYS ON THE PLANET |
The heads on 5.0 mustangs are the most restrictive part of the motor. You can get that intake and install it, but it isnt going to do squat for you right now except give some good looks

I was also thinking of porting the stock heads untill I can get the cash for the mass air conv. cam and heads (and rebuilding the heads without spending alot of cash on these and then turn around and buy new heads) not to metion that I have no clue what heads to buy yet I would like to get the TFS heads but I hear that they have clearance problems.

Well i have the tfs intake on my 88lx and i installed it when i had speed density. You will experience a slight idle surge from the increased air into the motor. That is because the computer is unable to compensate for the more air. Mass air system will fix that problem.
The intake will clear your hood if u don't put a spacer on. Ian i'll show a pic of mine with the 2" spacer on it. |
I have the Eldebrock Preformer intake and love it . So of coarse I say go Eldebrock it tests high on all tests and looks great. IMO

I thought that the intake WAS the most restrictive part on the stock engine? I know that the heads suck, but the intake sucks more :)
