My stock AOD is bad, when i drop it into gear at idle, it BANGS! into gear, if I rev it just a touch, say to 1000 r's and drop it in gear it goes in smoothly, what the heck is that?

I think you salved your owen problem just adjust the idle up to the 1000 mark and your good to go:D

Probably forces the tranny to slip a little when at higher RPMs which makes it seem smoother. What does it do when shifting into reverse?
|
Reverse is perfect.

Shut-up Lester! I gotch your good to go hangin' low! LOL:D
When you comin' down to Florida? |

i'm no tranny expert so I couldn't tell you what the problem is exactly. But it sounds like its time for a strong rebuild or a Lentech, good luck with it, -Drew |

Re: BANG! why is neutral drop better?
eagle1957, i could watch that for hours. Did you check your fluids? I really dont know much about auto trans, but maybe the extra rpm's build up some fluid pressure thats missing lower in the rpm? Idk, just throwing it out there for ideas.
