Novi blower problem
 

I just installed my Novi 1000 blower today and I have a couple problems.

1. My 3" cowl hood will not close. I have solid motor mounts and they raise the motor up a little. But the blower is like 2" too high. The Paxton tech told to to reclock the blower to the discharge is lower.

2. Since the blower install, my fuel pressure regulator does not work properly. I cannot drop the base fuel pressure any lower than 40 psi, but I can raise it.

3. The idle surges like crazy. a constant rrrrrRRRRRRMMMmmmm rrrrrrRRRRRMMMMmmmm......rrrrrRRRRRMMMMMmmmm......
Which may be caused by my 30 pound injectors at 40 psi at idle, instead of 30 psi like it normally is.

I swapped in a new fuel pressure regulator, but the problem still exists.

Hey Rob, man you have no luck at all do ya man? The reason for not wanting to drop below 40psi is because the supercharger and your stock computer (assuming your computer is stock) is not going to let you drop below 40 psi. My mom has a supercharger on hers and it did the same thing. The stock computer is gonna let the motor surge ALOT. My mom's does that terrible. It'll idle real chunky and lopey, then it smooths out. Hope this helps

I got the idling issue sqaured away today, but the fuel pressure issue is still there. It is like my regulator has been "reversed". It is at about 44 psi at idle, and it DROPS to 40 psi when approaching zero vacuum. On boost there is no added fuel pressure.

I blew into the FMU line and the went up like it should. Now I don't understand why it does not raise when the blower is under boost.

I was told on the Corral that I need a "boost sensitive" fuel pressure regulator. That does not make much sense to me, because my dry N.O.S. kit increased fuel pressure basically in the same way.

Hmm, Sounds like it could be a clog somewhere in the line. Something doesn't sound right that's for sure.
