Getting rid of factory fuel cutoff

Ok here's a good one, how can I get rid of the factory 6250 RPM fuel cutoff on my car. I'm pushing right at 6000 RPM crossing the line at the end of 1/4 on the bottle so I'm not to thrilled at the aspect of going 250 more RPM and the fuel pump cutting out.

Any way to do this easilly I'm guessing it's something in the computer but being that most chips advanced timing I don't think it'd be a good idea to use a normal one on the bottle.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks

The best way would probably be to get the SVO Extender. It will allow you to change your Air/Fuel ratio, too.

If I recall correctly the SVO extender isn't being made anymore so it may be hard to come by. An EEC tuner should have that capability as well.

I was trying to go with something a little cheaper maybe something simple too. Those tuners are like what around 400 bucks or so, that's kind of crazy just to get rid of the rev limiter. Any other ideas guys.

The cheapest way around the factory rev-limiter is a custom chip, around $250.

Hmmmmm...

How about just getting a MSD 6AL for under $200, and you get a better ignition box along with rve limit control??

Old School yes, but it is a proven upgrade :)

the MSD wont get rid of the factory rev limiter. It will just allow you to add an additional one at the desired RPM

I'm not sure how the EEC cuts fuel at 6250. If it is at the injecter you will need a chip, pms, etc... If it just cuts power to the pump you could just rewire the pump to a toggle switch that is hot at all times.

fiveohpatrol....

Can you explain that one???

I am confused, I thought the 6AL w/ rev limiter controls the max rpm limit?????

Gentlemen...The 5.0 6250rpm rev-limiter is a fuel cut-off, not electrical.

It is controlled by the EEC computer ONLY, NO MSD, CRANE, or other "BOX" will by-pass it, only piggyback EEC controller units can "override" EEC control inputs.

And...with your setup there is no reason to rev past 6250 and still make power, your package needs a change.

Use some 255/60 tires :D
