What's the best clutch?

I need a new clutch on my car. at the track it started to slip with slicks on. What is the best street/strip clutch available out there. I have'nt bought a clutch for my car in years and just wanted to get informed from someone who has looked into it recently. Thanks for any help...

CenterForce Dual friction, costs more that your average clutch, but well worth it. Has a lighter pedal feel than stock as well.;)

I second that. I love my CenterForce!

i hear the BEST setup to have is a centerforce disc with a motorsport pressure plate, and throwout bearing. from what i heard the complete centerforce setup wears out too fast...

take care,

I haven't had to adjust my DF CF clutch in 40,000 miles. I'd say that its durability is excellent. I'll 3rd the opinion about the DF CF clutch.

i dont speak from experience with that clutch, so i wouldnt know.... good to hear it though.

I absolutely love my motorsport HD clutch. I happen to like the hard pedal. I know some people don't like the hard pedal though. Centerforce seems to be the set up to have. I am just stating that there ain't nothing wrong with the HD motorsport and that is my vote.

The clutch I had before my Centerforce was a FMS King Cobra. Nice pedal feel, but it only lasted a year. BLAH.

Im used to the hard feel on my motorsport clutch, some people think its abnormal, but i told them thats how they are?

hard on clutch cables though, my throwout bearing is making some noise now, but it has survived many hard launches on e.t. streets, next im going spec, or king cobra.

SPEC ALL THE WAY!

Well I killed a CF DF and a HD PP/CF disc combo and a King Cobra....the CF lasted the longest out of the 3 above mentioned but lately I hear that they have been having issues and a lot of guys are getting bad assemblies. The king cobra lasted 1000miles, and I broke it in correctly but it could not hold the power in the high rpms and would slip.

I went out on a limb and got a Stage III from Star Performance Engineered [b]C]/b]lutches and it was the best decision I ever made, the thing just holds like mad. I luanch at 6000rpm and it grabs and goes and releases very smooth for easy speed or power shifts. The Stage III is more aburt then a Stage II you may want to go that route.

Not only do they out perform other clutches they also are a little cheaper and come complete with TOB, PP, disc, and pilot tool. I think the Stage II runs @ $240-260 and the Stage III is $340. The Stage II is comparible to a CF DF.

Give them a call, tell David I sent ya..

Give me an email at roblobe@msn.com

I am now a SPEC dealer, so I can get you a good price :)

Thanx,

What about the McLeod clutches......I've heard good things about them. From what I'm told they're between the CF DF and the SPEC.
