Motorsport clutch?
I just bought another Mustang and the pedal effort is much harder than my old stock one and also a lot harder than my friend's Centerforce. I was told the car had a Motorsport clutch in it. Is the pedal effort on this clutch that much heavier than other clutches?

It depends on which Motorsport clutch they put in it. Most require less than the stock clutch but they might have replaced it with the stock clutch too. I just replaced my new one with a Motorsport King Cobra and the pedal effort is substantially less. Over the years my left calf muscle has gotten much stronger with the stock clutch. I was very happy with the new King Cobra from the first time I engaged it.

The cobra clutch has harder pedal effort then stock.
The king corbra has less pedal effort. The centre force has less force. Uses counter weigths for clutch pressure. Disclaimer: I have only owned the first clutch and a stock one and God forbid a fenco. ------------------ 82 Mercury Capri 302. Comp. Cams Tremec 3550 3.73's 12.8@106 N/AKevin's Capri |
