burning coolant
is there any way besides a blown head gasket, that coolant can be burned and blown out the exhaust. the coolant lines to the throttle body are not hooked up and new heads and gaskets were just put on. it was running for a little while and tons of white smoke and coolant drips from the pipes. help me.

Could be lots of things. But if you just put on a set of new head gaskets and it was fine before that I would check there or the intake gaskets. They may not have seald and water could be entering there.

I once had a leak in the gaskets between the throttle body/egr/intake and my intake filled up with this putty like substance. All of my collant got sucked into the engine. it was not a fun clean up. Take the intake tube off of the TB and see if there is a leak before it gets worse.
It could also be the lower intake gaskets. Did you purchase intake gaskets with silicone around the water passages? If not, did you put a small bead around them before you lowered the intake in place? |
