Drag radials will they make my car slower???
ok my friend told me that if i got drag radials for my car that it would make my car slower is this true?
I think it would help because i have 4.10's but i could be wrong. If it will help my car is it ok to use them on a daily driver? if so how long do they last if i dont race at every stoplight/sign??? Thanks for any help ahead of time!!! |
they can make you slower by two ways, one is if you get a taller size than tire you have now, and the other is if you lower the pressure too much, but with 4.10s im guessing you have tractions problems so on the track if you find the optimum pressure for your combo they will definately NOT make you slower, they should dramatically improve your 60ft times if you have bad traction problems, they will be fine on a daily driver if you dont forget to air them back up after you leave the track, they wont last quite as long as a normal radial tire but you gotta give some to get some

I have 235/60/15 BFG DRs..
on AVG my mph at the track went down, but my ETs we lower also..i was hooking up better. This my 2nd set i have owned..i love the tire! On the street man i LOVE them......i launch about 1,300-1,400 and drop the clutch and they might spin once and i am off. i usually get about 12K out of them. the DRs on on the 86 GT... ------------------ '86 GT.
