Hypereutectic vs. Forged
Forged is better right? WHY?
|
yes, forged better, but Hypereutectic is lighter.

Forged pistons are more dense, which is why they are stronger.
The Hypereutic Cast pistons are basically just poured into a mold, so since they don't undergo the forging process they are less dense and therefore lighter. Hyper pistons allow for better oil control, which helps emissions, and that's why Ford went to them over the forged units. |
I have hyper pistons and they have lasted through at least 10 bottles of nitrous with no problems.

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND I USE ON MY REBUILD? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS.

what you use is totally dependant on what your intended use for the motor is. hyperutectics are better for most rebuilds and performance and are stronger than cast pistons. tey are lighter therefore creating less rotational mass and of coarse less stress on parts and allow higher revs easier. also you can run tighter clearance which gives better stability to the piston and better oil control. but if you intend to make serious hp with a blower or alot of juice then a good forged piston would be better. but get a quality set, not trw's which are slugs. forged are stronger, not better. a good set of either type is equally as good when used in the right way.

Re: Hypereutectic vs. Forged
well my name for the hypereutectic is hyperexplosive becuase anytime you put a good number of horses on them they explode. If you dont want to spend alot of money better just save some extra money and buy the forged set.
