TPS with PIH(A9L)

Well, I checked my TPS and I was a little disapointed. It read .5 at idle and 3.5 wide open. What does this mean?? Is it messing up my performance? If I was to adjust it, which way should I turn it? Should I adjust it? Thanks guys.

It should read between .9 and 1.0 volts at idle and increase to over 4 volts at WOT. So your about .5 volts low. All you need to do is loosen the screws and turn it. Just turn the key on and adjust it with the volt meter attached. Turn it til you get ~.95 volts. This adjustment may screw up your idle. But first worry about getting the tps set up right, then worry about adjusting your idle. Make sure to reset the computer(disconnect battery, lights on for 15 minutes) after you adjust the tps and idle.

Thanks for the reply man. I have a very crappy idle and was sort of hoping this would help it out. How bad do you think that it is hurting my performance by having it so low? Will I gain anything noticeable by changing it? Thanks man.

actually if the tps is reading that low it's probably bad but still try to adjust it to .96-.98 volts with the car off key on and it should read over 4.5volts at wide open if it reads less than 4.5 it's bad.

They are a b!tch to change on the 94/95's. They are halfway hidden behind the IAC. Take it off the TB, plug it in, then check your voltages. If the voltages are fine, you might have to drill out the steel inserts to get it set properly.

Well, I hope the TPS isn't bad, I replaced it in June. I am going to try to drill it out to get it to read right. Do you think it will take much turning to make it read right? Thanks guys.
