I weighed the wagon / gas lbs ?
 

Well the "as--ole" at the track will never hook up the scale. Looks like it is only for "BIG" events. Today I went to the scrap yard and drove on the scale. 4863.21 lbs and she runs 12.6s with E7s... Yea right :) well it was 2740lbs with a completely full tank of gas, With me it it 2920lbs. I stopped and bought a industrial size can of slimfast and a funnel, and poured it on top of that full tank of gas. I hope it helps? O.K. how much does gas weigh?

5.75823216 lbs per gallon ... approx. :confused:

We run methanol, which is a little closer to 7 pounds per gallon, if that makes you feel any better.

Chris, I wish you could see me laughing. I run methanol in my son's 4 wheeler. Some time in mine, if I decide to swap the carbs. I wanted to know, because I put 10 gallons in it right before I weighed it. I felt that it was better to be full, and subtract, than to guess what was in the tank. I wanted to be close a possiable to use the analyzer. Now I can tell people that I run 12s with a measly 280hp.

In the aviation field, we always used 6.5 lbs/gal for gasoline when figuring weight and balance or gross weight configurations..

I found this:

1 gallon of gasoline = 6.1 lbs.

1 gallon of fuel oil = 7.7 lbs.

Just out of curiosity, what size jets do you use when running methanol?

This may not directly relate to the original post but it has some excellent information about fuel weight (specific gravity) and how it affects the tuning of your engine! I stumbled across it trying to figure out why my figure for the weight of gasoline differed from the others in this post (I hate it when things don't add up !)

yah but those damn E7's cant make power at all. You just cant run fast with them :D

I laughed when I dyno'd mine and only saw 248rwhp.

not even 250hp and it runs consistent 12's. Those E7's sure do suck:)
