the tighter the cable is, the more force there is on the pressure plate, allowing for the clutch to release sooner (wont have to push the pedal down as far)

but to answer yoru question, the tighter the cable is, the clutch will "catch" when the pedal is farther away from the floor

do you think ill need to worry about stretchin out the cable if i make it looser? so that way i dont have a ***** load of preasure on the preasure plate when i push the clutch all the way in? or do you think that i should just keep it to as soon as i push the clutch in it catches..??

I like to have it where the clutch will grab with the pedal about halfway out.

The way I do it is to put the rear in the air and on jackstands. Then get the cable about as tight as it feels it should be. Then start the car, put it in gear and slowly let the pedal out. You'll be able to tell when it is fully engaged. Make adjustments as necessary. Then go for a drive. If it catches at the very top of the pedal, then the cable is too tight. If it catches at the very bottom then the cable isnt tight enough

cool deal, that means im there right now, but the pedal feels kinda flimsy as i 1st push it in the gets you could feel it grab about half way. but hey thanks for the info man.
