how can i hook a volt gauge up to my o2's
 
i want to hook a volt gauge up to my o2 sensors so i can tell if im running lean or rich i herd its a very good way to check it so if you know tell me how cuase since i converted to carbed there just hanging there not hooked up and where do i hook everything up and what does the guage readings mean like where do i want it to read and can i use this with carbed

I don't think you'll be able to get a reading of any kind off of O2s that are not plugged into the cars computer. With a carb...I'd ditch them and buy a air/fuel ratio meter.

You can only really use a wideband O2 sensor to do what you're wanting to do. Take it to a dyno facility with the proper equipment and tune it there. We have narrow band O2 sensors which can only sense A/F ratio reliably around the stoichiometric A/F ratio. Readings beyond that wouldn't tell you anything. The computer only guesses on the A/F ratio delivered at WOT based on feedback collected during closed loop mode and readings from the MAF, ECT, ACT, and BAP sensors. Since you've gone with a carb, you just have to keep tuning it yourself until you get it right.

You could probably splice into the oxygen sensor and get a reading but you'd have to get a voltmeter that reads 0 to 5 volts, which is basically what "air/fuel" ratio gauges are.

I believe that the more oxygen there is in the exhaust the higher the voltage the oxygen sensor generates and vise versa.

Check out this site, all you need is a 1 wire chev sensor and a digital voltmeter! http://www.bob2000.com/carb.htm You can do it with the stock sensor by hooking one of the wires up to a power source, one to the voltmeter and ground the other (don't ask me which one's which though)
