Carb swap, Yeah or nay?

I've been wanting to convert my car to carb from efi. There is a guy that I work with who has a Thunderbird with a carbed 302. He says he will sell me the whole car for $300. Do ya'll think it would be better to convert my engine or to buy the thunderbird and just swap out the motors. I know that a carb motor is not as practicle as efi, but I am not using the stang for my daily driver. It will eventually be a track only car, and I know that it is cheaper to upgrade on a carb car than an efi. What do ya'll think? If I swap them, I was thinking about putting the efi 5.0 in my truck and taking out the 4.9. Any opinions would be considered. Thanks in advance.

i would just make yours carb'd. i have a buddy that made a 306 with edelbrock rpm heads carb'd and it slowed down 2 tenths. i would personally stay fuel injected. i wouldnt bother swapping motors though.

Yeah, a carbed motor will be a bit easier and a little less expensive to build, but I'm not sure if I'd trade out an EFI motor for a carbed one. I guess it's like this, if I started out with a EFI, I'd probably build that, if I started out with a carbed motor, I'd build that. If I started from scratch, I'd build a carbed motor. My opinion.
And in general, I'd rather work on and build a carbed motor.

Are you going to swap the carb stuff out of the t-bird into your stang? If so, that stuff is junk. Carb's are cheap, but not that cheap. You still have to build a fuel system.....if you do it right. All guages will probably have to be aftermarket. If you have money, go with good stuff, if not, stay EFI.
