Plugs being gapped at .045 instead of .054 killing performance?
 

A while back I tuned up my car and the parts guy said either the gap was .045 or .054... Anyways, all of you said it was .054 but we put it at .045 since the gap of the plugs we pulled was .048... now, do you think this is possibly killing performance? And if so would it even be noticeable?

Let me tell you from experience that Ford calls for .052 on the 5.0 HO motor. I recently did "green94droptop"'s plug, cap/rotor, and wires. He was gapped at .080!!! He just got the car so the previous owner must have been a _jackass. But he told me before I did the plug change that his car had bad throttle response and seemed like it missfired at idle. Now, those problems are gone.

Hmm, I think I may regap the plugs soon then. I'm not having a misfire or anything like that... but I should probably go ahead and regap em anyways. Thanks for the info.
