Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in my 95 is on its way out the door. Right now the car is stock, but I have begun building a 347 Stroker that I plan on supercharging.
My question is do I replace the pump with a high volume one now, maybe a 255lph? Or should I just replace it with something smaller for now to get me through until I actually get the S/C. The blower comapany told me to use something small because a matched pump (to the S/C and boost) is included in the kit along with an inline pump, a FMU and a voltage amplifier. Thanks |
I would look at minimizing the number of times you drop the tank.
when you do the blower install will you have to drop the tank for anything other than the intank pump? maybe buy a big pump like the one that is supplied and then when you get the kit sell the one they give you. That way you only have to replace the pump once. |
I agree with conman, do it once and sell the other one.;)
save a headache...just be sure to put in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in place of the stock one. |
They cant tell me how big of a pump their kit supplies until I decide on which blower I'm using and how much boost I plan on running.

probably a 255 intake would be fine, don't know if they come any bigger and then when you get the kit you will add an extra in-line pump, whatever they give you.
if you are unsure and want to use whatever comes with the kit then just get a smaller pump for now but then you will be dropping the tank twice, have fun with that;) |
Yeah, I think I'll just put the 255 pump in. I might as well go with the High Pressure pump for a few extra dollars. That supplies more fuel at higher pressures.
