mexican 302 motor buildup.. questions

I am getting a Mexican 302 block in the next few months, and I'm still new to building up this type of setup...

First off, I'm getting the crane vertical locking bar roller lifters, which don't require smaller-base circle cams, and so I'm using a crane or custom cam and then edelbrock performer heads, RPM intake, EFI, forged pistons, etc, etc...

But what I was wondering about was balancing..

I can get a good price on a Billet Steel 28 oz flywheel.. So I obviously need to get a 28 oz harmonic balancer to match on the other end of the crank. But what about clutches? Do they need to be balanced to 28 oz as well ? And obviously the crank needs to be balanced to match the 28 oz balancer and flywheel, correct?

If the motor will only see 6500rpm, is it worthwhile to get a 28oz balancing? I've read that less spinning weight is better no matter what rpm you peak at..

Is there anything else I should know about for this buildup?

Thanks !

Lessening you out of balance wait is always good but it may be cheaper to buy an early model 302 crank that is already 28 istead of balancing your 50 down. Clutches are supposed to be zero balance because all you balance is in the flwheel crank and balancer. So any clutch would worck now that is theroretical if you are building a real high winder then get your clutch balanced with the rest of the assembly because of manufactureing tolerances they are not always a perfect 0.

hmmm... since I'm looking for a forged crank, I guess the only earlier style 3inch stroke crank is a boss crank right that works on 28 balance?? I'll have to go searching the web for 28 ounce cranks..

And, I'm not necessarily sold on 28 ounce.. If I can get it balanced and blueprinted for 50 ounce flywheel/damper, then I'll do that, I was just more concerned about longevity at 6500 - 7000 rpm with 50 ounces x 2 spinning around... cause I can get a forged crank for 50 ounce pretty cheap too.. :)
(lots of issues to deal with eh?)

since I want to do this right the first time, I'm willing to spend a bit extra $$, but really if its only worth it...

Any 302 crank before 82ish will have a 3" stroke and 28 ounce balance. I don't think theres any thing to be gained one way or the other. Just something ford did to mess us up, again.
