victor 5.0 pcv?
i bought an edelbrock victor 5.0 intake (from wads56) and was just wondering what i do about a pcv. can i just run open breathers on both valve covers or do i need some kind of suction back into the motor?
|
I just used a couple of moroso chrome breathers...

e-mail pro-m, they might be able to help you. When I ordered my Vic 5.0 I had the same question, I'm still getting the parts together and the engine built so I never bothered to e-mail them back on the pvc issue. However at the time they said they could guide me through it.
If I remeber correctly its sort of a closed loop system(?) in stock configuration. With the base of the Vic 5.0 not having in provisions for a PVC then you'll probably have to route it through the valve cover and upto to one of the vaccum fittings on the Upper intake at the rear, Since you dont have vaccum brakes, maybe you can splice it in there. |
why go through all that trouble when you can just get rid of the pcv system... do you have to get tested for emissions
Run a couple breathers in the valve covers and be done with it, IMHO :) |
I agree with Ryan.
BUT, whatever you do, DON'T DO BOTH! Choose either breathers OR PCV system, otherwise you'll create a vacuum leak. :) Take care, ~Chris |
so just running an open system, with only breathers on the covers isnt going to hurt anything, like increase blow by?
|
I ran it with open breathers and had no probs. Don't do both like PKRWUD said or you will have all kinds of idle problems.

ok thanks
