ARRG!!someone help...pkrwd??
Ok, i felt a vibration through shifter, and driveline, replaced u-joints a week ago, tightend up all bolts i could find, replaced crank damper with a ford replacement.
well today i drove off to see if the balancer helped, sure enough the problem is still there, and also it developed a noise when i push in the clutch, sort of like a 'tick tick tick' noise like flywheel noise, i dont think it's throwout bearing noise, btw, the kk clutch is fairly new, but has some sticky tire abuse on it, whats next? pull the t-5, and bellhouse? The clutch has been fine since replacement till now, do you think the pp could have come loose? please, anything will help at this point, im starting to think about a shiny new for sale sign on the window:( |
Sounds like the tob to me!
|
tick, tick, tick.... that's your throwout bearing, just like saltz stated. Been there, done that. Replace your throwout bearing and get a steel input shaft bearing retainer while everything is apart if your T5 still has the stock aluminum unit. The stock aluminum unit galls from the heat and the wear will make the tob hang-up, causing improper clutch engagement issues.
Don't give up on your stang either! :) |
What he said.

tic tic noise
It sound like you have a bad throw-out bearing and also you could have a noisy input bearing. I would replace the tob and also the input shaft bearing with a new steel bearing retainer.

Ok i will not give up on the stang, dont know why i spoke that nonsense earlier heh....
But, i have had a tob go bad before, it made more of a high pitch squeel, well i hope you guys are right anyways, this sounds more of a flywheel noise, like teeth are hitting something, also, why would a tob make the car vibrate/shudder at certain speeds? again, this isnt my tires(i tried another set), the bearing retainer is stock, i'll upgrade anyways, thanx for the help....... i just dont see how a TOB would make my car vibrate? something tells me it's something worse, but i trust you guys knowledge for sure, Thanx alot, merry x-mas...time to go pull the h-pipe d/s, you know the drill...:p |
Okay, if you haven't started taking it apart, do this:
Go for a test drive, and when the vibration starts, push in the clutch, and see if it goes away. |
I did, and it goes away, and i hear that noise, but it will stop after a second or so, when clutch is in, thanx alot, planning to pull it sometime thurs-fri...
