no mufflers?

i was just wondering about something...if i just ran like a 2 foot piece of 3.5" pipe from my headers, just to get the heat away from the bellhousing, and stopped it there with no mufflers, no cats or anything if my car would run like sh*t or if it would run good,..i know it would be loud as hell and getting an inspectuion is not a problem..please give me your insight

I know someone who has longtube headers to an off road h pipe and he welded dumps on the end of that and it does sound awsome but every once and awhile it will stall out. it sounds like it has trouble when its cold out other than that its fine.

If you have a lopey cam, then it could sound pretty sweet. I know when I had my exhaust disconnected on my 351 it sounded killer (and not redneckish:p). I have a pretty decent cam though 224/234, .496/.520...

WAY WAY WAY WAY too loud for daliy driving.

Do yourself a favor, get a exhaust system.

I have no mufflers but have hi flow cats and it sounds wicked bad. My neighbors do not like it too much but I sure do:)

It is insanely loud and will sound like this (15M video):

I would recommend from the 3 1/2's to a Dr. Gas "X" and from there to a couple of 2 or 3 chamber Flowmaster, with some 45 degree kick outs.

what year car?

has anyone stopped to think what the computer is going to do when it stops getting information from the o2 sensors? Dunno what it will run like personally, but it's not something that I would do ;)
