shorty headers

2.5" exhaust
engine has 3,000 mile on rebuild
no suspension work done yet not sure what to go with

14.11 @ 99.8

with 26 x 9.5 hoosiers quick times

OK. That list of mods there - are those what you plan on adding in the future, or are they already on the car? If they are already on the car, was that e.t. before or after they were added?

those mods were on the car for those runs. It was my first time in the car at the track. and had a hard time gettin it to hook up. I also forgot to mention that I still have the stock cam in the car I was hoping for mid 13 second runs

OK. Being your first time to the track thats understandable. As far as advice on what to do next, its a tough call. What kind of budget are you on? How far do you wanna go with the car? If you are just going for e.t. I would say go get a dry kit and spray your way well into the 13's. I have a kit on my car and I love it, as does everyone else on this site who has one.

Is this car your daily driver? If not, you may consider doing some minor port work to the heads and intake. The stock cam wouldnt be a culprit of holding you back all that much with a mild setup. There are guys running into the 12's on the stock cam.

I guess what Im trying to say is its hard for me or anyone else to tell you what to do next. Its all up to your preference, and ultimately how much $ you wanna spend.

Yeah thats a good plan. Youve got the slicks already, with suspension mods, you should be able to get damn close to, if not into, the 12's. Good Luck.

Just a reminder!!! a 86 5.0 has true flat top pistons! NO VALVE RELIEFS!!! So any bigger valved cylinder head, any bigger cam than stock and you are just asking for problems with piston to valve clearance. You must first either replace the pistons or have them "flycut" to provide the necessary piston to valve clearance.
