5.0 Question.
 

How much would a decent running 5.0 (stock) and a 5spd. tranny from a 93 LX or GT be worth? I might have a chance to buy them both and I was wondering what y'all's thoughts would be.

Another thing, I've got a 7.5 rearend in my Stang right now and I might want to go to a 8.8. Any special things I might need to do? It's not a major thing but I just want to know for the future.

My buddy bought a 5.0 out of a stang for 200 bucks from the junkyard. It fired right up, and the car showed 98k on the clock.

My dad bought a crashed '83 5.0 with the engine still in good shape and good tranny for $300. Everything on the engine was hi-performance and he dropped it in his '84 convertable body and it fired right up. I would say, depending on the shape of the tranny AND engine, dont spend mroe than $450, and thats if its pretty good shape. Unless it has so really nice upgrades to the engine and low low miles.
