Re-Polishing Rims
I have 15" American Racing 5 spoke polished aluminum rims. After winter, they look BAD, it's time to repolish them. I just bought some Nevr-Dull, will this compound work or do you guys recommend something else? ~Brian

yeah i really want to hear the answer to this question too. I have polished aluminum ponys and man o man after what illionis does in the winter with all of this salt i think i would have better luck with driving the car in the sand. I drove my car like 3 times this winter because i have to. It rusted and corroaded(sp) my cermic coated long tubes. Corroaded my wheels and all my parts under the hood.
they need to do somthing with illionis and this salt. I didnt even see them use a plow this year they only dumped salt we need to go somewhere warm w/no salt sorry so long but i think u can agree with me on this one later raini |
Yeah, I can definately agree with you on that one. Illinois needs to straighten up. I really want to try to get a second car for next winter but I don't know if I'll be able to afford it (still a student.) But, I guess either we have to put up with it, or move down south.

skip down to the polishing part of the page as you will not need to sand your wheels since they were already polished and get some cheapo steel rims for next winter you wont want to do this often trust me its a very dirty job wear goggles |

EXTREME RIM POLISH
You can get EXTREME rim polish and it will make your rims look like brand new ones....no matter how bad they are now! It is almost guaranteed to work awesome!!!! Use polish cloth afterwards to make it really shine!
You can get it at almost any parts store..... it is not very expensive either......GOOD LUCK!! Miss you USMC302!!! OORAH MY MARINE!!! |
She is absolutely right, we went through never-dull, mothers, turtle wax, black magic polish, all of it, you name it we tried it, Extreme was unreal, it was the best. We picked some up at our local Tire dealership, don't think you can find any at Wal-mart. Good luck

hey there that EXTREME rim polish who is it made by. thanks alot
|
EXTREME
Hey....I am not sure who makes EXTREME rim polish...but it comes in a small black round container and it is cotton that you tear off and rub in small circles till the area turns black. WORKS WONDERS!
I will look to see who makes it and get back to you! You can get it at parts stores or tire centers....i.e.......Modica Brothers, Superior, Firestone, etc. Or try Autozone, Orielly's, Pep Boys...etc. YOU WILL LOVE THE RESULTS!!! OORAH USMC302!! |
Ok, looks like I'm going to try to find some of this Extreme stuff, sounds like it is the key. Chatcher: I already planned on taking the wheels of the car, I did this when I cleaned and waxed my friend's chrome rims, much easier to work on, and depending on money, I'm going to try to get another car for next winter. Thanks again all. ~Brian

Great Post!!
Thanks guys for the info. This was a recent topic that has been on my mind lately. My polished Aluminum Weld wheels aren't as glassy as they use to be. They're more dull now. Gonna check out this Extreme stuff. Cool

Hi there i have looked everywherer for that extream rim polish and i cant find it anywhere. do you have know of any other products that are good
|
i have used wenol from summit for light duty shinning depending on how badly the wheels suffered through the winter these cream type polishes may work but if the wheel is bad it will need repolished with a buffer and rouge for optimum results (like new finish)
