grinding divider out of duel plane intake

Could I just grind the divider out in my performer intake to kind of make it a single plane intake?
Will that hurt anything as far as air/fuel flow?

You can grind it out and possibly get some gain if your engine needs the extra flow at high rpm's. what your doing when grinding out the divider is opening up the plenum so that each cylinder will see both side of the carb instead of just one. a songle plane intake has an open plenum where all cylinders will see all 4 barrels of the carb instead of just 2 like a dual plane does. also a single plane intake has straight runners and a dual pane has runners that cross over and are longer to work better at low to mid rpm's.

This is a tried and true method of getting some more power. I would advise against removing the whole thing though. Most that is needed is like 30% and remove that from the center of the divider.

tmoss , do you mean remove 30% or remove all but 30%

Take a look at the RPM Air Gap intake. Its a dual plane and has the top of the middle of the divider already ground down. That's to promote top end breathing. So yeah, it'll work, but don't take all of it away. I'd suggest taking 25% of it away and see how you like it. That way if you want to go more you can.

I mean remove 30% total - from the top center of the divider. As mentioned, it's a lot easier to remove than to put back, so don't go crazy.
