are chips really worth.......
it for a mustang. i was thinking about getting a chip for my '89 gt. are they worth it? are there a lot of different ones?

A generic chip isn't worth anything from what i've heard, but i've heard good things about custom burned ones.

I had a Hypertech chip in my '88 before I swapped to Mass Air. The chip help gas milage and maybe felt a little responsive at WOT. That's about it... no huge power gains that's for sure!

You can get the same benefits by raising your base timing and adjusting fuel pressure. Basically you don't need a generic aftermarket chip. On the sn-95 cars they do turn the electric fans on earlier.
