Engine Weights

I was once told that a 5.0 roller motor weighs about 100 lbs less than the traditional earlier 302's. Does anyone know the approximate weight of a new 5.0 and a 351w engine? I am not worried about the total weight (like aluminum heads vers. Cast), but I am trying to pick my engine with handling in mind...and as little weight in the front end as possible.

thanks,
Ryan

nope no where near a 100lbs diffrence .

a 351 w weight's about 510-520 (stock manual i dont know what accesories are included on this)about 60 + pounds more than a 302. a 351 sportsman block is like 200 lbs bare

an aluminum 302 weight 98 lbs for the block. the lightest you can get but its like $5000.00 CDN.

Block to bare block there isnt as much diffrence as people think .

take away airconditioning and power steering and theres more of a diffrence.

engine weight

there is no air or power steering in this car. So it is just pretty much the weight of the motor that will be in the car.
