The pro 5.0 and the steeda tri-ax are both awesome.

I have the Steeda Tri-ax, and I like it. I have never tried another brand though.

I have had a Hurst short throw, a Hurst short throw with chrome stick, the Steeda and the Pro 5.0.

I liked the performance of the Pro 5.0 the best and thought the Hurst with the chrome stick and old school boot looked the best, but us old guys like that kind of thing.

I currently have the Pro 5.0 on my Tremec with one of the Fat Knobs, I took the Fat Knob and drilled a hole in it to mount a switch on the side of the ball for your thumb to activate the line lock. Works great!

I've had a Hurst with the stop-bolts since I bought the car new back in '90. It has never missed a beat and still works great. I like the shape of the shifter handle on the Hurst - a lot of the other aftremarket units just have a relatively straight stick!

Hurst

Another vote for the Hurst. I've had mine on my '90 GT for years and love it. I went with the white Hurst shifter ball. Love the feel.

I have friends with the pro 50 and the triax and have heard nothing but good things. I myself have hurst 1/4 stick pistol grip on my reverse manual c4.:D

I have a Tri-Ax in my '92 GT and I'm totally pleased with it. I've also experienced Pro 5.0 and Hurst. Hurst came out better than I thought it would be (but not necessarily better than the other 2). You should do a search on this forum for Tri Ax and/or Pro 5.0 threads, you'll find a lot of replies in each thread.

I have the steeda tri-ax; one of my good friends has the Pro 5.0. Both are great shifters and you would be happy with either one. I prefer the steeda because it is positioned a little better with the handle they have. In 5th gear it stands straight up and center. The Pro 5.0 you have to stretch a little more.Shifter shootout

I like my b&m ripper, the steeda finds 3rd gear for you, so i would'nt mind having that one either.;)

GhettoPop 09-02-2003 02:14 PM

yeah coupe50h, finding 3rd with the stock shifter is a pain, a pro50 or steeda will fix this?

also, my ride in the sig has the common stang prob, not going into 1st once in a while or not going into reverse (happens about 25% of tries). if i cant get into reverse, i just put the car in first, move a few inches, then i can get into reverse. if i cant get into first, just use 2nd, move up a few inches, then throw in first. will an aftermarket fix this? i doubt it but its worth asking
