how do i track down a short?
 

i thought that i fixed my problem of the car shuting off while i was driving it by replaceing a (really) bad battery but after driving the car for a few days it did it again today. this time though the fuel gauge peged and the amp gauge was on the line under the center mark. so thats got me and a friend thinking a short. so how do i go about tracking one down?
