ATTN: TREMEC OWNERS!!!! PLEASE HELP

Ok, I just got a T3550 for my 89 GT. It has been rebuilt, and is a T3550, like I already said.

PROBLEM: The Cross member won't line up with the transmission mount, The exhaust hanger bracket is about a inch and a half too far forward, and the actual transmission mount holes are about a inch and a half further back than the ones on the T5.

Is this right? Or is something wrong?

Has anyone else had this problem? What do I need to do?

Someone please help me, I am in desperate need of it.

Thanks guys!

Had the same problem when my 3550 was installed almost 2 yrs ago. We had to take off the cross member and move it back so that it lined up with the tranny. Then just welded it back on the frame. As far as the exhaust hangers, I just used the cross member to slide the hangers over the top since the hangers lined right up with it. Not the best way to do it I'm sure, but it's still there after 2 yrs. Just be careful when you move the cross member back so that you don't tear it up when you take it off. Hope this helps some.

the tremec is longer than stock tranny u can cut the welds on old 1 or do like i did and buy a new 1 from ford i think they r like 35.00 and its not welded so it moves. on the h pipe i never put them in the hangers just hold it up tighten it up
