H.O. heads

are the heads from a 5.0 HO worth playing with ? i can get a set cheap but didn't want to waste time and money putting bigger valves and porting them. anyone ever used them ?

The stock heads ported with larger valves are adequate for mild engines and are definately better than stock, but you can find cheap/and or used heads for reasonable prices that will make more power.
There's actually quite a few articles about porting the E7TE high output heads and you can pick up a decent amount of horsepower. If you check out www.powerheads.com they have CNC ported HO heads so you can get good power out of them.

I poored alot of cash into my E7's a while back. I had them fully ported, polished and milled but kept the stock valves.

The heads were descent but there are way better heads out there. Anything in the GT-40 family of heads would be way better than E7's.

I had over 700 bux in my stock heads and I ran mid 13's. I paid 700 bux for the Canfield aluminum heads I have now and the power difference is huge:cool:
