I always wondered that...I can't believe my car is that much heavier...I never would have thunk there was that much more garb on the LX and GT's...my GT weighed 3200, my LX weighs 3180 without me in it.

My LX comes in at 2700# :)

That's awesome, 88! I wish I could get mine that low. I'm at 2900 with a 1/4 tank of gas w/o me in the car.

OK guys, what do I need to do to reduce my weight? My cars aren't strip racers...my Saleen is a nice weather driver and my LX is my dd. How do I reduce weight. My Saleen has alum heads and a fiberglass hood...isn't that good for about 100#? I admit, I weighed ar a farmers grain weigh station, are those accurate?

I do not want to remove my seat because I don't have any filler to make it look clean.

Dark_5.0 02-21-2004 12:43 AM

I have done alot of weight reduction.

Aluminum heads
removed rear bumper
removed front sway bar
removed power steering
removed all a/c components.
rear end vibration dampener. (aka...dog bone.)
fiberglass hood.

I have also added weight.

sub frame connectors.
drive shaft safety loop.
heavy @ss electric fan
3 core radiator

I have went as far as I am willing to go with weight reduction. Some people remove all of the sound deadening material and front bumper and get a tubular K-member etc...

2650 ummm....wow..I was thinking more like 2950 but maybe thats why I am not hooking up any more, but not really a comparison (street driving on slicks)
