302 H.O. and Standard 302 Questions.......

Just wondering any chance the cam from the 5.0 HO will work in the non HO just as long as i put hydralic roller lifters in the non HO..... Please let me know...... is it the same firing order???? or not?

The firing order is the same as a 351 on the H.O., and you will have to drill and tap your lifter valley to accept the lifter spider (hold down). Make sure you get the spider and dogbones when you buy your lifters.

IF you have an HO crank Ya it will work but not without it. The cam is made to open up the valves with the crank.

are you serious.... so i have to have an HO crank and an HO cam? or im praying im hearing you wrong..........

Cranks are identical bro. no worries there. Firing order for 302 HO, 351w, and 351 HO is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Standard 302 firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8.

Throw the HO cam in your 302, and run the HO firing order. Remember that passenger's side is 1-2-3-4 and driver's side is 5-6-7-8

Also check your intake. If you're running a dual plane carb intake, some of them are built for the different firing orders. Such as that the intake runner themselves are configured differently. The intake will have the firing order that it's built for cast right on it. If you have a single plane, or a fuelie motor, no worries!

Good luck!
