Power Steering Question
 

I'm replacing my power steering pressure line and I was wondering where the end nut with the tapered fitting that portrudes beyond the nut is supposed to go. I assumed that it goes into the pump outlet but I wasn't 100% sure. The other end is flush with the nut.
