Header Bolt

Im installing a new h-pipe and headers, and am trying to get the old crap off. I got the passenger side header off, and one bolt of the drivers side. The other bolt won't bude. it seems a little stripped, so its hard to get a good socket grip on it. What should I do to get it off? I don't if it snaps, i just want it off.

Jeff, try prying out on the header flange with a screwdriver or pry bar while you are turning the bolt, this should get the bolt coming out. It is probably ( hopefully? )just the threads on the bolt have been pulled, if not you should really heli-coil the hole if it's damaged.

Sorry I thought you were talking about the flange bolts on the head, I gotta start reading more carefully. Those h-pipe bolts are a pain to get at, if your junking the old h-pipe any way, just cut the pipe as close as you can to the flange.

ya, if your putting on new h-pipe and headers, just cut taht mutha. if you don't want to do that, hit it with a massive amount of wd-40 or equivelent, and leave it overnight, then hit it again before you start working. before i ever do work on anything, i hit all the blots i can get to with the stuff the day or so before
