valve rotators

Alrighty, I am installing a set of Trick Flow valve spring upgrade valve springs on my GT40 iron heads. I will also be installing a set of Ford Racing 1.6 Roller Rockers. I noticed that the stock springs have what is called a valve rotator on the top of the spring and the new springs do not. Im guessing that the rotators are because the old rockers didnt have a roller tip but i am not sure. I have noticed that my dads AFR's dont have valve rotators and most other aftermarket heads do not. Are they necessary?

Thanks,
Nick

Re: valve rotators

I wish i could help, but i used the same (stock) retainers on mine, and used comp cams springs. (dont remember part #)

Only thing is, it could have thrown off my installed height, but everything works good, my car pulls to 6k in a hurry.
but i think you might need a machine shop to do it, (unless you have the tools) so they can measure, and shim if necessary.
good luck, and trust me anything works better than those stock springs.
