Replacing the exterior door handle on a 87 Mustang LX
 

Can anyone provide instructions or article references explaining how to replace the exterior door handle on a 87' Mustang LX. The car has electronic door locks?

I replaced mine around six months ago and it was pretty easy.First thing to do is remove all the screws that hold the inside door panel and remove it.There is a plastic film that is used to keep water out.Carefully pull that back.There is a rod that fits onto the door handle and it simple slides off.The next thing to do is drill out the rivets from the outside.Pull off the old handle and position the new one.I use allen bolts instead of rivets.After you bolt or rivet the handle back on then slide the handle rod back on and put your inside panel back on.
