Alternator Pulley Question

Hello fellow Mustangers!!

Just a quick question... I am looking to purchase a PA 130 Amp alternator for my 88 GT. On PA's website they give you options as to what Pulley to get with your kit. This is kind of a stupid question, but which Pulley is the correct one? I am guessing it is between the 5 and 6 Groove? I counted the number of ribs and there are 5, however i was not sure if you count the outermost as Grooves or not... The options that PA lists for Pulleys include:1V, 2V, 4S, 5S, 6S, 7S, & 8S.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Alternator Pulley Question

i bought the same alternator for my 90GT, but I also picked up a march undrive kit and had Pa Perfirmance install the march pulley on their alternator. i beleive its 6 is the one u need. call up PA performance, they have awesome customer service. by the way, i have the 130 amp pulley, stewart water pump, and march 1000 underdrives, works awesome, no charging/cooling problems. also a good idea to replace those stock alternator connections/harnesses, they are probally shot and u might break them taking them off anyways.

Re: Alternator Pulley Question

Stock mustangs have a 6 rib serpentine belt. I would assume that 6s is the one you want.
