Re: gt 40-p heads

I believe most all 302's came with a 1/6 rocker on them, as far as the 3 angle valve job goes, I can't say for sure. If I had to guess I would say no, but that's only a guess. How old are these heads? If they have any miles on them I would reccomend a 3 angle valve job. Are you doing the machine work yourself? Good luck with everything. I believe those heads came on explorer's from the factory, but again I could be incorrect. I have been in and out of the mustang hobby since approx. 1995, but I thought I read that somewhere one time. Take care.

Re: gt 40-p heads

They did come on explorers and you are gonna need headers designed for those heads. Some guys have gotten by with headers that were not made for the GT-40p head, but I do not know what headers those were. I believe those headers had to be dented here and there.

ya they came off a 96 or something explorer.
i got my long tubes to fix i just dented them a bit.
so u guys think i should get the 3 angle, what about shaving them my stock heads have ben shaved and it helped out a lot.

none of this is being done by myself by a local shop
