another timing question...HELP!!!
 
90 LX 5.0 I'm advancing the timing...now...I'm having some trouble here...how do you loosen the bolt on the distributor, and which bolt is it?...O and is it possible to use nething else besides the ignition wrench??? help me dahhhhh

you can use any 13mm or half inch wrench you want, dont forget to pull the spout connector before you adjust anything and put it back when you're done. in case you need to know the spout connector is the small plug (2 wires only) attached to the same harness that goes to your distributor, this plug just hangs there.

There were several wires on the small plug...not just two. So I dunno help me out here...maybe i'm pullin the wrong plug?

carefull advancing the timing!! i am set at 13 degrees, and i have no problem with running the cheap gas, even with my giant hoover vacuum k&n filter on hot, camaro infested days!! my frend steve (capri306) down the road has 14-15 degrees on his bone stock 87 lx, and he has had detonation problems on anything less than 94, even on cool nights. it is a noticeable seat of the pants difference, its just that is 5hp worth an extra $0.20 a gallon when you fill up?
