Car won't start, second time.

Hey guys. Having a really strange problem here.

I get in my mustang in the morning and it starts right up and drives fine. If I go somewhere where I will only be stopped for a couple minutes (like the gas station) it cranks really really slow. Lately it has even not cranked, leaving me stranded. If I let it sit for about a half an hour it will start right up. If I jump it when it cranks slow, it will crank over fine and start right up.

I thought it was the battery going bad, but I replaced it and am still having the same problem. Someone suggested that the starter was too hot, therefore wouldn't turn until it cooled off. Could this be a possibility?

Please help, I would love to start driving my mustang again on a daily basis. See my car specifics in my link below.

Thanks

Harry

Sounds to me like heat soak in the starter. How old is the battery. Have you had it load tested. Id have to say, though, the most likely cause is the starter. Its not unusual as a starter gets older. good luck

Agree with "Heat soak"

*DO NOT GET A REBUILT STARTER, YOU MAY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH IT.*

Thanks guys.

I swapped out the starter and it appears to be working better. However I have to wait for it to quit raining here in Ohio so I can drive it all day and see how it does.
