buying cometics, need to know bore size??
 
hey guys, i have a 308, and i want to buy cometic head gaskets. What size bore do i have? cause i know there gonna ask when i call to order them???

Either i'm reading this wrong or this is a strange post?

Your bore is listed in your signature ? Except i'm fairly sure you mean it's bored .040 not .40 ??? If it's .040 and it's a standard small block Ford, then your bore is 4.040"

You'd be a 4.040" bore like 'roddin says. They have a 4.090" gasket, but it's not very popular so its not in stock often. So your next choice is the 4.100" which I'd recommend for the 308. After that, its 4.155" which you'll loose even more compression with if you use. If the Cometics aren't in stock, check Mr. Gasket. They're the Cometics, just re-packaged. BTW: Good choice. Since I started using the Cometics, I haven't had a single head gasket failure. Best thing since sliced bread (or R-blocks)!
