Efi 2 Carb
 

I have a 90 gt with a custom built 347 all keith black internals running about 11:1 compression. All my EFI parts are new and not big enough, the build went a little out of control and I have a beast on my hands. I want to off all my EFI parts and go CARB. I want to know who has done this and how much work it is. I was so far I know I need a bypass relay to use my electric fuel pump, a new distributor, and some fab work to my fuel rail. Im looking for pics or maybe instructions on what to do. As for the carb parts I had a holley 750 hp or street avenger in mind with a single plain or victor jr intake 1500, 1600. Please help i'm open to any suggestions.

I've done this several times, and the easiest way to do this is really simple, believe it or not. Parts list:

MSD Distributor (bronze gear, for roller cam)
MSD 6 (Or 6AL if you want the rev limiter)
Victor Jr. Intake
Holley 750 mechanical secondaries!!
Granatelli in tank fuel pickup
Holley black fuel pump
Holley fuel pressure regulator
Fram HG-1 fuel filter

DONE deal! I would NOT run an EFI pump on a carb setup. That in tank pump gotta go. This is not as hard as you think it is, it's actually quite simple. To get rid of your stock fuel lines, I'd just run some 1/2" aluminum hard line, or if ya wanna be the big cheese on your block, go with braided. Chase a few wires, build some fuel lines, and you're sliding into home bro!

Fuel system is the hardest part, and it's not really all that bad. I can help you design it if you'd like.

I just got that fuel pump and installed it a few weeks ago I would hate to do have to replace it. Couldnt I just use the bypass regulator, this car is not a serious track car its for weekend fun around town.

That pump is capable of putting out 60+ PSI at full flow, and you only need 7! Ain't gonna bypass that much pressure bro. I've heard of it being done, but I wouldn't trust it, one "ooops" in the regulator, and you've got fuel in your oil, cuz it'll blow right past the needle/seat on the carb.

Yank it and sell it on ebay?

The EFI fuel pumps are high pressure, not high volume.. you need more volume with a carb.
