I'm running 12.80's and pulling the wheels. 10-1 302 gt40x heads e-cam w/1.72's, typhoon int. 70mm tb and mass air. Redneck c-4 w/their 4k converter and t-brake. 3.73's w/ 275/50/15 MT radials. For suspension upr solid lowers double adj. uppers, stock GT springs in the rear with stock shocks. Front Susp. is WORN out stock struts, 4 cyl. springs, no sway bar, 15x3 1/2 draglites. the car has a MM 6 point bar and full length subs. 3140 race weight with me in the car. 60 ft. is 1.64-1.68 12.80's @ 102-103.I used the stock crossmember after grinding off the welds. I also used a Steeda spacer for the driveshaft(11/16). I'm leaving off a 2 step at 3500 rpm and shifting at 6k, Daniel

I dont see why a c-4 is your answer, it's great for dragracing, but not very streetable, specially a manual valvebody.
If I had a 175 shot spraying with my slicks, id probaly have the wheels up in the 1 and 2nd shift:p with my t-5:confused:(something would break)

And guys that hang the hoops running drag radials, have light cars and worked suspension.

The converter stalls to 4200 maxed. I leave at 3500 on a two step.

when ur driving on the street how much rpm does it take to start moving ?4000 seems a lil to high for me .i was thinking of a 3500 plus i have a 45min drive to the track

Re: c4 tranny swap i need to pull the wheels

With a 4k stall there is a little more noticable slip when taking off. the car starts moving pretty much like normal. with 3.73 gears I have driven mine to the track. It's about 35 miles. On the Interstate W/O overdrive it is kind of a drag ....60 MPH is about 3200 rpm. You need a healthy Trans cooler and a Trans temp gauge to keep an eye on things. I used 2 of the B&M 28000# coolers in series. Trans temp never gets above 160 even when I use the Trans Brake.

Re: c4 tranny swap i need to pull the wheels

I had a couple of minor issues. The pan gasket was overtorqued. I also got the trans with a stock bell for a 164 tooth flywheel. The bolts that hold the bell to the trans shook loose after about 20 runs. Make sure that you loctite the bolts before you put it in the car. On my car going from an AOD w/ 3000 stall to the C-4 w/ 4000 stall netted me 5 tenths in the 1/4. Car went from a 13.30 to a 12.80.
