302 problems

hello i have a freshly rebuilt 302 bored and stroked to a 347. it has a double roller timing chain, a healthy 351 cam, aluminum intake, elelbrock carb, roller rockers, msd 6AL ignition with stock distibutor. i just got it running and was trying to time it when i realized i have a dead number 5 cylinder. i have tried a differnt spark plug and wire. readjusted the valve lash and still no luck. its getting air fuel and has compression. has anybody had this problem before? its driving me nuts can anybody help? im open to anything at this point.
thanx

Re: 302 problems

first did u change the plug wire? is the compression on #5 the same as the rest? are u using the right firing order?did u check to see if the rockers are moving on the #5 ...when adjusting the lash did u go zero lash the a half a turn? rember a engine needs 3 things to run fuel/air, compression,spark..
