If thats the case, where does the computer get it's readings from?

its by the black metal tube that goes to the heater core

Ok, let me get this straight: Your saying that the computer gets the engine temp from the heater core? Mine is bypassed.

My friend has his heater core bypassed with no problems.

The PRO-M website states that the ECT(Engine coolant temp) sensor must be hooked up.

Back to the heater core sensor, whee exactly is it located..?

Duh, sorry, it's up by the water pump.... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Another thing i mean to ask you guys...

What type of o2 sensor does everyone run, the thin one or the thick one?

I am still confused about this issue - I am installing an AutoMeter Mechanical Temp Gauge, and I was going to just remove the existing Electrical sensor & wire (stock)...will this affect the computer or anything else??? Is there another place on the block/intake where I should put the mechanical probe - and leave the stock one in place??? PLEASE LET KNOW, I am planning to finish this job tonight - Thanks!

The single wire sensor does not affect the computer. On my car I installed the auto meter guage in the stock sensor location and then teed into the computer sensor location and installed the old sending unit there. everything works great.
